PT Tripatra Engineering (Tripatra) has recently launched a kick-off meeting for a new Greenfield Green Ammonia Feasibility Study (FS) for PT Kaltim Parna Industri – a domestic private ammonia producer located in Bontang, East Kalimantan, Indonesia (Parna Raya Group). For this study, Tripatra collaborates with NextChem, part of Maire Tecnimont Group MAIRE.
The Feasibility Study includes conceptual design, location assessment, economic analysis, project schedule and final report for the implementation of the Greenfield Green Ammonia Project. The project will utilize renewable power from hydropower to generate low-carbon intensity ammonia or green ammonia. The plant, with an initial capacity of 300 TPD and potential for further expansion, will be based on Stamicarbon’s Green Ammonia Technology, Maire Tecnimont Group’s licensing and innovation hub. This will be one of the first green ammonia projects in Indonesia and it is expected to be on stream in 2027. The green ammonia produced shall fulfill the domestic market and export to Asian countries to enable the energy transition in transportation, power generation, and chemical sectors in the near future.
